Sifu
Rani Matuk –
Certified Instructor
Sifu
Rani Matuk began his martial arts training in 1992. In 1994
he became a Wah Lum Northern Praying Mantis student under
Sifu Tom Haase in Merritt Island, Florida. Since then, Sifu
Matuk has trained with several other Wah Lum schools in Florida
including Orlando, Tampa, and Gainesville. He became a certified
Wah Lum instructor by Grandmaster Chan Pui in 2005 and currently
studies under Sifu Bob Rosen, the Chief Instructor for the
Wah Lum Kung-Fu Athletic Association in Boston’s Chinatown.
Sifu
Matuk is a member of the Boston Demo Team and an instructor
at the Chinatown school. The team performs Kung-Fu, Lion Dancing,
and Dragon Dancing exhibitions for community festivals, parades,
corporate events, restaurants, and schools around the Northeast.
He has competed in several competitions including Seattle,
Baltimore, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, and China, in addition
to participating as a ring judge and official at several Martial
Art events.
Sifu
Matuk holds a B.S. in Computer Science, a B.S. in Humanities,
and a Minor in Media Studies from the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology. He also earned an M.S. with honors in Management
and an M.B.A with distinction in Finance from the University
of Florida. He currently works as a Senior Quantitative Analyst
for State Street Global Markets in Boston.
